Motor Trend showcases Buick on magazine's cover for the first time in nearly three decades 1For the first time since 1982, Buick is featured on the cover of Motor Trend magazine. With an accompanying headline that reads, “Buick is Back!” The publication’s April 2010 issue features photos of the Buick LaCrosse, Regal Turbo and Regal GS Concept and touts the growing momentum behind Buick.

The issue includes two Buick features: a drive review of the new 2011 Regal called “International Rescue” and “Trading Places,” a comparison of the 2010 LaCrosse and the 2010 Lexus ES350, in which LaCrosse emerges the winner.

The Century T-Type was the last Buick featured on the cover of Motor Trend in August of 1982.

In his review of the 2011 Regal, Motor Trend Editor-in-Chief Angus Mackenzie writes:

“The Regal is the first Buick in history with internationally chic sheet metal and sophisticated road manners to match and it’s truly likely to appeal to young, affluent, trend-setting import buyers.”

Available in dealerships this spring, the Regal is the next chapter in Buick’s transformation. The vehicle features a standard 2.4L Ecotec direct injected engine rated at an estimated 182 horsepower (136 kW). Available later in 2010 will be the 2.0L Ecotec turbocharged and direct-injected engine rated at an estimated 220 horsepower (164 kW).

Pricing for the premium sport sedan begins at $26,995.

The LaCrosse, a luxury sedan redesigned for 2010, continues to attract buyers to Buick and the 2010 model is selling three times faster than its predecessor. The car has been praised for its exterior styling and luxurious interior and features a suite of advanced personal technologies and safety features.

In addition to two fuel-saving V-6 engines, a new fuel-efficient, direct inject Ecotec 2.4L four-cylinder engine will be available with the LaCrosse CX model this spring. LaCrosse will be the only sedan in its segment with an available four-cylinder engine.

The April 2010 issue of Motor Trend is now available on newsstands.
