Hyundai has had plenty of innovative commercials, particularly during Super Bowl telecasts. Hyundai has continued to receive praise. This time, the Korean carmaker has been named the “Most Reliable Manufacturer” in 2013 via the CarMD Vehicle Health Index Manufacturer & Vehicle Reliability Ranking. The annual report by the California-based consumer organization compiles a system that helps drivers monitor vehicle health and minimize related repair costs. The ranking details the manufacturers and vehicles with the lowest combined “check engine” repair incidents and costs. The Index ranks the top 10 manufacturers, top 100 vehicles overall, top vehicles by category and the most common repairs by make. Hyundai finished second to Toyota the past two years. Hyundai full-speed ahead with hydrogen Tucson in 2014

Hyundai will announce details Nov. 20 at the Los Angeles Auto Show that beginning in 2014 it will become the first manufacturer of a mass-produced car that will run on a hydrogen fuel cell. The vehicle will be the Tucson sport utility vehicle. Hydrogen-powered cars have been discussed in the automotive industry since the 1960s. General Motors and Honda both experimented with limited offering of hydrogen cars in the mid-2000s, respectively the Chevy Equinox and FCX Clarity. Furloughed? Hyundai says ‘We’ve got your back’

Within a few hours after the government shutdown, Hyundai Motor America launched a payment deferral program aimed at helping furloughed federal employees. Hyundai will defer all auto loan and lease payments during the shutdown for current Hyundai owners who are furloughed. “We recognize the impact on family budgets that the furlough will drive,” said John Krafcik, president and CEO of Hyundai Motor America. “Like we did almost four years ago when we launched Hyundai Assurance, this is our way of saying ‘We’ve got your back’ during this uncertain time.” Current Hyundai owners will be provided relief from payments for as long as they are out of work.
