Lone Star Legend: Tom Wrigley Performance Shatters S58 World Record at TX2K26

The landscape of professional street-legal drag racing shifted decisively between March 17 and March 22, 2026, as the Texas Motorplex in Ennis played host to the 26th annual TX2K event. Historically regarded as the “Super Bowl of Street Car Racing,” TX2K has evolved from its grassroots origins into a globally recognized benchmark for automotive engineering and driver endurance. The 2026 iteration, TX2K26, wasn’t just a competition—it was a validation of new technological frontiers, specifically for the BMW S58 engine platform and the extreme limits of the 275 drag radial tire. Texas Motorplex, with its signature all-concrete quarter-mile surface, provided the ideal medium for transferring upwards of 3,000 wheel horsepower (whp) to the asphalt. The consistency of the track surface allowed for

2024 Ford Mustang honors its iconic muscle car elder

Only a few new cars have debuted in half-year models, and it hasn’t occurred in more than 30 years. The most well-known example of a fractured name is the 1964 1/2 Ford Mustang, the iconic muscle car known by a mid-year moniker but never marketed as such by the manufacturer. The carmaker’s longest-tenure vehicle debuted at the New York World’s Fair as a 1965 model in April 1964. A few months later, the manufacturer made modifications but the updated cars were still 1965 models. The changes eventually prompted experts to designate the differences with the earlier model acquiring the half-year qualifier. The 2024 Mustang, available since the summer of 2023, marks the first year of the car’s seventh generation. Date

For the first time Luftgekühlt, often shortened to Luft 9, offered back-to-back days to commemorate all Porsches without regard to door count, means of cooling, motorsport success, and more. Air | Water exhibits vehicles from the Pre-A era to 992 — Mezger 997’s, Carrera GT’s, GT3 Tourings — alongside their classic counterparts. It did so with the mentality the venue makes the event. Electric vehicles aren’t new, just new again after 200 years

Two Scotsmen respectively introduced an electric carriage and locomotive with galvanic cells with limited lives. The contraptions quickly gained notoriety. They were revolutionary for the early 1830s, but are best remembered as pre-historic precursors to the current electric vehicle surge. All major and niche car manufacturers — Chevrolet to Ford, Tesla to Lucid —have electric cars and trucks or are preparing an alternative fuel or electric vehicle.
