EV Cost Per Mile vs Gas: A Comprehensive Comparison for 2023

The debate over EV Cost Per Mile vs Gas continues to be a hot topic as the automotive landscape witnesses a pivotal shift. A recent study by Anderson Economic Group has shed light on the ongoing debate between electric vehicles (EVs) and their gas-powered counterparts. The findings reveal the cost of charging many electric cars is still not cheaper than fueling traditional gas vehicles. The automotive world is in a state of flux, with EVs gaining traction and traditional internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles facing new challenges. Anderson Economic Group’s latest report, released in July 2023, provides a detailed analysis of the real-world costs of fueling different types of vehicles. “A driver might pay 64% more to charge their entry-level

Overcoming range anxiety for EV DRIVERs

The increasing popularity of electric vehicles (EVs) has also prompted an increasing concern for drivers — range anxiety. It’s the fear or worry of running out of battery power while driving an electric vehicle. It can leave the driver and their passengers stranded with no charging station nearby. The apprehension stems naturally from the apparently limited driving range of EVs compared to traditional fossil-fuel-powered, internal combustion engine vehicles. While EV batteries have improved considerably since their first launch, range anxiety remains a concern for potential buyers. However, with careful planning and adopting some essential practices, EV drivers can effectively manage their vehicle’s range and enjoy the benefits of eco-friendly transportation. How limited range, range anxiety can lead to car accidents

Ford’s Removable Roof Battery: A Game-Changer in EV Range Solutions

In the rapidly evolving landscape of sustainable transportation, electric vehicles (EVs) are at the forefront. However, ‘range anxiety’ – the fear of running out of battery before reaching a charging station – has been a persistent concern for potential EV owners. Ford has proposed an innovative solution to this issue: a removable roof battery for EVs. “The techniques described relate to an electrified vehicle backup battery system, which includes a traction battery pack and a backup battery assembly that is removably mounted to the vehicle. This backup battery assembly can recharge the traction battery pack through a charge port of the vehicle.” Ford‘s patent application for this removable roof battery technology has been making waves in the industry. The proposed

Toyota’s Solid-State Battery: A Game Changer for Electric Vehicles

Toyota, the world’s second-largest carmaker, has recently announced a significant breakthrough in battery technology that could revolutionize the electric vehicle (EV) industry. The Japanese auto giant claims to have developed a solid-state battery with a range of 745 miles (1,200 kilometers) that could charge in 10 minutes or less, a feat that could potentially double the distance of vehicles running on conventional lithium-ion batteries under the same conditions. The solid-state battery, as its name implies, employs solid electrolytes, a departure from the liquid ones found in conventional lithium-ion batteries. This shift is more than just a technical nuance. It’s a potential revolution for EVs, promising to slash charging times, boost capacity, and mitigate the fire risk associated with lithium-ion batteries.

Mercedes Vision One Eleven reimagines an icon

Mercedes-Benz has taken a big step back to the future in its unveiling of the Vision One-Eleven concept. The German auto manufacturer gives the nod to a previous iconic design, specifically the 1969 C111 concept, with the appearance of the Vision One-Eleven. Mercedes’ designers didn’t stray radically from the vintage lines of the C11. Retained were the two large, contrasting hood scoops, side vents and, most importantly, gullwing doors that made the C111 so iconic. However, the past ends and the future begins with the Vision One-Eleven’s augmented reality capabilities. Mercedes has integrated an augmented reality headset which can be used by occupants to enhance user experience, combining the car’s physical interior with a digital interface. For instance, AR makes

Lucid Air: a bonafide Tesla rival — finally

In the 15 years since Tesla debuted, several potential competitors have swiftly arrived and departed without any impact. Lucid Motors, less than two years into its luxury electric sedan life, is an exception. The Lucid Air, designed in Newark, California, built in Casa Grande, Arizona, and majority owned by a Saudi Arabian sovereign investment fund, at least equals the omnipresent Tesla in a dozen criteria. It outdoes the EV stalwart in several ways. It’s new, powerful, industry bending and has limited availability, traits Tesla also had in its infancy. Unveiled in October 2021 as a 2022 model, Lucid produced 7,180 vehicles last year, about one-third of the original estimate after industry-wide supply chain issues. The 2023 edition is now also
