Cadillac introduced the 2026 LYRIQ-V on Tuesday, marking the brand’s first all-electric entry into its high-performance V-Series lineup. The LYRIQ-V boasts impressive performance figures and advanced technology, positioning it as a formidable competitor in the luxury electric SUV segment.

The LYRIQ-V is powered by a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system producing an estimated 615 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. This powertrain enables the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in approximately 3.3 seconds when using the Velocity Max feature, making it the quickest Cadillac ever produced.

Compared to other Cadillac LYRIQ models, the V variant offers significantly more power. The standard LYRIQ AWD produces 500 horsepower, while the rear-wheel-drive version delivers 340 horsepower.ย The LYRIQ-V’s increased performance comes at the cost of some range, with its 285-mile estimate falling short of the RWD LYRIQ’s 314 miles.

In the competitive landscape, the LYRIQ-V faces off against other high-performance electric SUVs. The Tesla Model X Plaid, with its 1,020 horsepower and 2.5-second 0-60 mph time, outperforms the LYRIQ-V in acceleration but starts at a higher price point. The Audi e-tron S and BMW iX M60 offer similar performance and luxury features in the same general price range.

EV Range and Charging

The 2026 Cadillac LYRIQ-V offers competitive range and charging capabilities compared to other electric vehicles in its class, though it falls slightly behind some rivals in certain aspects.

The LYRIQ-V has an estimated range of 285 miles on a single charge.ย This puts it in line with some competitors:

  • BMW iX M60: 285 miles (identical to LYRIQ-V).
  • Tesla Model X Long Range: 348 miles (63 miles more than LYRIQ-V).
  • Tesla Model X Plaid: 333 miles (48 miles more than LYRIQ-V).

It’s worth noting that the LYRIQ-V’s range is lower than the standard LYRIQ models, which offer up to 314 miles for the RWD version and 307 miles for the AWD version.ย This reduction is likely due to the V’s performance-oriented tuning.

The LYRIQ-V utilizes a 102 kWh battery pack and supports DC fast charging at up to 190 kW.ย This allows for relatively quick charging times. Based on data from recent GM battery tests, quick charging can add up to 76 miles of range in about 10 minutes. Charging from 10% to 80% will take approximately 30 minutes.

For home charging, the LYRIQ-V supports 11.5 kW AC charging, which can add around 51 miles of range per hour.

  • Tesla Model X: Supports up to 250 kW fast charging, potentially allowing for slightly quicker charge times.
  • BMW iX M60: Offers similar charging speeds to the LYRIQ-V
  • Audi e-tron: Some models may charge faster, with reports of up to 144 kW charging speeds compared to the LYRIQ’s observed 90 kW in certain conditions.

It’s important to note that real-world charging speeds can vary based on factors such as battery temperature, state of charge, and charger capabilities. The LYRIQ-V’s charging curve may also taper off at higher states of charge to protect battery longevity.

While the LYRIQ-V doesn’t lead the pack in range or charging speed, it offers competitive capabilities that should satisfy most drivers’ needs for both daily use and longer trips. Its balance of performance, range, and charging speed makes it a strong contender in the luxury electric SUV segment.

Audio and Entertainment

One of the LYRIQ-V’s standout features is its sound system. The vehicle comes equipped with a 23-speaker AKG Studio Audio System enhanced by Dolby Atmos technology.ย Cadillac has also developed a unique, multi-layered sound experience for the LYRIQ-V, with interior and exterior signature sounds synchronized to provide an orchestrated sonic experience.

Speakers are built into the headrests for an immersive experience. The vehicle boasts four additional speakers compared to the standard LYRIQ, bringing the total to 23.

The 2026 Cadillac LYRIQ-V offers a distinctive and immersive sound experience that sets it apart from other vehicles. Interior and exterior signature sounds are synchronized to provide an orchestrated sonic experience. Sounds can “move around” the cabin using speakers in various locations.

This sound design includes elements inspired by Cadillac’s LMDh race car and can be customized through the V-Mode settings, offering an even more unique experience.

Some of the elements include distinctive sounds which signal heavy deceleration, enhancing awareness and contributing to energy recovery. More exhilarating sounds accompany quick acceleration, tuned to match the speed and RPM.

The 2026 LYRIQ-V is scheduled to begin production in early 2025 at General Motors’ Spring Hill Manufacturing plant in Tennessee. It will be available for sale in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and other global markets to be announced at a later date.
