The 2027 Kia Telluride runs from $39,190 for a front-wheel-drive LX to $57,590 for a hybrid X-Line SX-Prestige. Every hybrid costs $2,700 more than the same trim with the gas engine, and at the EPA’s fuel-cost estimate it earns that back in under three years. Families who need eight seats have two choices, the LX and the EX, and the S priced between them seats seven.

Kia builds the gas Telluride, powered by a 274-hp 2.5-liter turbo four, in 12 versions across five trim levels: LX, S, EX, SX and SX-Prestige, with X-Line styling on the EX, SX and SX-Prestige and the off-road X-Pro on the SX and SX-Prestige.

Kia’s 329-hp hybrid is sold as an EX, SX, X-Line SX, SX-Prestige and X-Line SX-Prestige.

I spent a week in October with an X-Pro SX-Prestige whose window sticker came to $59,580 with Terrain Brown Matte paint and floor mats, and I checked every price below against Kia’s pricing release and kia.com on November 2, 2026.

Key Takeaways

  • Prices run from $39,190 to $57,590 before the $1,545 destination charge, across 12 gas versions and six hybrids.
  • A hybrid costs $2,700 more than the same trim with the gas engine, and EPA fuel-cost estimates put the payback at 2.3 to 2.8 years.
  • Eight seats come on the gas LX and EX, which have a second-row bench; every other 2027 Telluride, hybrids included, seats seven.
  • The SX adds Meridian audio, a surround-view camera and Highway Driving Assist 2 for $5,000 over the EX.
  • The gas SX is front-wheel drive only; an all-wheel-drive SX means the $51,790 X-Line SX.
  • The X-Pro lifts ground clearance to 9.1 inches on 18-inch all-terrain tires, comes only with the gas engine and is EPA-rated at 19 mpg combined.
  • Towing is rated at 5,000 pounds for gas models and 4,500 for the hybrid.

All-wheel drive is a $2,000 option on the S, the EX and the hybrid EX. Front-wheel drive is the sole choice on the gas SX, and all-wheel drive on the SX-Prestige, X-Line and X-Pro.

Telluride Hybrid vs Gas: $2,700 at Every Trim

Under the hood, the hybrid pairs the same 2.5-liter turbo with electric motors and a 1.65-kWh battery for 329 hp and 339 lb-ft, against 274 hp and 311 lb-ft in the gas model, and it shifts through a six-speed automatic in place of the gas car’s eight-speed.

Chart of EPA annual fuel cost for gas and hybrid 2027 Kia Telluride trims, showing savings of $950 to $1,150 a year and a 2.3 to 2.8 year payback on the $2,700 hybrid premium
Annual fuel cost from the EPA’s estimates, which assume 15,000 miles a year and regular at $4.28 a gallon on November 2, 2026. Infographic: The Weekly Driver

At 35 mpg combined, the front-wheel-drive hybrid EX carries the best EPA rating of any Telluride; the hybrid SX gets 33 and every all-wheel-drive hybrid 31. Matching gas models score 22 with front-wheel drive and 20 with all-wheel drive.

I compared the EPA’s annual fuel cost for each pair: the hybrid saves $950 to $1,150 a year, so the $2,700 comes back in 2.3 to 2.8 years, sooner with more miles or dearer gas.

A hybrid EX gets second-row captain’s chairs where the gas EX has a bench, plus a 115-volt outlet in the cargo area and a standard PTC cabin heater, optional on the gas EX, and it rides on 18-inch wheels rather than the gas EX’s 20s.

Kia quotes a 637-mile range for the hybrid EX with front-wheel drive on its 18.2-gallon tank; the gas Telluride holds 19 gallons.

Towing drops to 4,500 pounds for the hybrid, 500 fewer than the gas model, and its cargo area is one cubic foot smaller: 21.3 cubic feet behind the third row against 22.3, and 88.3 with both rear rows folded against 89.3.

LX ($39,190): Eight Seats and Front-Wheel Drive

The LX is the one Telluride with a manual liftgate and a six-way manual driver’s seat, and it comes with front-wheel drive only. It seats eight on a 60/40 second-row bench, rides on 18-inch wheels and trims its seats in cloth on the upper backs with SynTex synthetic leather below.

Every Telluride shares the 12.3-inch touchscreen with navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, tri-zone automatic climate control, two wireless phone chargers and seven USB ports. On the LX, driver assistance includes Highway Driving Assist 1.5, Lane Following Assist 2, navigation-based smart cruise control with stop and go, and forward and rear parking sensors.

S ($42,090): Captain’s Chairs and Heated Front Seats

The S adds $2,900 to the LX’s price and replaces the bench with two second-row captain’s chairs, so it seats seven. Heated front seats, an eight-way power driver’s seat, a hands-free power liftgate, a power sunroof, roof rails and 20-inch wheels arrive with it.

The S is also the least expensive Telluride offered with all-wheel drive, and every all-wheel-drive model gets Terrain Mode’s Snow, Mud and Sand settings.

EX ($43,790): Ventilated Seats and the Bench Again

For $1,700 over the S, the EX brings back the eight-seat bench along with ventilated front seats, an eight-way power passenger seat with power lumbar, full SynTex upholstery, power-folding mirrors, acoustic glass in the front doors, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror and sunshades for the rear doors. A heated steering wheel is optional.

Kia’s $295 Butter Brown interior is offered on the EX alone, gas or hybrid.

SX ($48,790): Meridian Audio and the Full Driver-Assist Set

The SX is priced $5,000 above the EX. A gas SX with all-wheel drive means the X-Line SX at $51,790.

Over the EX, it gains a second 12.3-inch screen as the instrument cluster, a 14-speaker Meridian system with a subwoofer, a dual sunroof, self-leveling rear suspension, a surround-view camera, blind-spot cameras that show in the cluster, Highway Driving Assist 2, automatic braking in reverse, side parking sensors, a 10-way driver’s seat with memory and 74-color ambient lighting.

In the X-Pro SX-Prestige I drove, the Meridian’s Dynamic Bass setting rattled the door panels where the speakers sit.

SX-Prestige ($53,890): Head-Up Display and Heated Second Row

The SX-Prestige layers on heated and ventilated second-row captain’s chairs, a 12-inch head-up display, a power tilting and telescoping steering wheel with memory, Digital Key 2 Touch, rain-sensing wipers, a full-display rear-view mirror and a 115-volt outlet. SynTex Suede covers the upper seat backs, the headliner and the A- and B-pillars, and engineered wood replaces the hydrographic trim of the lower grades.

An SX-Prestige sits $2,100 above the X-Line SX.

X-Line: 21-Inch Wheels and Standard All-Wheel Drive

X-Line versions of the EX, SX and SX-Prestige come with all-wheel drive, 21-inch wheels on 265/45 tires, raised roof rails, projector fog lamps, gloss-black mirrors and trim, a heated steering wheel and the PTC heater.

The X-Line EX carries a $1,500 premium over an EX with all-wheel drive and seats seven in captain’s chairs. An X-Line SX-Prestige runs $1,000 over the SX-Prestige.

X-Pro: 9.1 Inches of Ground Clearance and All-Terrain Tires

An X-Pro asks $1,900 more than an X-Line SX or X-Line SX-Prestige and lifts ground clearance to 9.1 inches from 7.4.

Kia introduced the X-Pro on the 2023 Telluride, the first generation’s refresh year.

The X-Pro’s 18-inch wheels wear 255/60 all-terrain tires, and an electronic limited-slip differential, front and rear recovery points, a Ground View Monitor and a trailer hitch come standard.

On the X-Pro I drove, the off-road screen tracked oil, transmission and engine temperatures beside the SUV’s pitch and roll.

EPA ratings put the X-Pro at 19 mpg combined, one below the other all-wheel-drive gas Tellurides. The X-Pro SX keeps the SX’s SynTex seats, and the X-Pro SX-Prestige pairs the Prestige equipment with carbon-look trim.

Depending on the trim, Kia charges $495 for Black Jade Green, Wolf Gray, Ebony Black, Glacial White Pearl or Terrain Brown. Panthera Metal Matte and Terrain Brown Matte cost $995 and are offered on X-Line models and the X-Pro SX-Prestige.

A Millstone interior, also $295, is available on the X-Line SX, X-Line SX-Prestige and X-Pro SX-Prestige.

Hybrid SX-Prestige and X-Line SX-Prestige buyers can add the $1,200 Executive Package: power leg rests for the front seats, six-way power second-row seats, a Relaxation Mode for the first and second rows, and heated outboard seats in the third row. On the X-Line SX-Prestige it includes the Millstone interior.

Every trim except the X-Pro, which has the hitch built in, offers the $625 Towing Package. Gas models are rated to tow 5,000 pounds with a braked trailer. Kia’s port-installed options include crossbars for $395, all-season floor liners for $255, carpeted mats for $250 and black side steps for $799.
