Known issues

High
NHTSA 25V-741 (October 2025) covers certain 2020-2025 Wrangler 4xe and 2022-2026 Grand Cherokee 4xe vehicles. It replaces 24V-720 (September 2024) and 23V-787 (November 2023), and vehicles repaired under either need the new remedy. The high-voltage battery may fail internally and cause a fire while parked or driving. Owners are told not to charge and to park outside and away from structures until dealers update the battery software and replace the battery as necessary, free of charge. FCA's filing adds a warranty extension with no time or mileage limit that replaces the battery on affected vehicles showing the related warning messages.
High
NHTSA 22V-768 (October 2022) covers certain 2022-2023 Wrangler 4xe vehicles whose battery pack was built with incorrect fasteners securing the 200-amp fuse, which can generate excessive heat. Dealers inspect and replace the fuse and replace the battery assembly if it is damaged, free of charge.
Low
EPA rates electric range at 22 miles for the Wrangler 4xe and 26 miles for the Grand Cherokee 4xe, on a 17.3 kWh pack that charges only on Level 1 or Level 2 at up to 7.2 kW.
Low
Jeep's 2023 warranty booklet covers the Wrangler 4xe high-voltage battery for 8 years or 100,000 miles in every state. The Grand Cherokee 4xe gets 10 years or 150,000 miles when certified for sale and registered in California or a state that adopted its ZEV rules, and 8 years or 100,000 miles elsewhere. The booklet states no capacity percentage.

How this pack ages (industry context)

Industry fleet aggregates: 2.3% average annual capacity loss across 22,700 EVs / 21 models (Geotab, 2026), and 95% range retention at 5 years on average across 30,000+ vehicles (Recurrent, 2026).

OEM warranty floor on this pack: 8 yr / 100k mi.

Public per-pack degradation curves are not available for most models. Individual results vary materially with climate, charging behavior, and DC fast-charge frequency.
