2024 Subaru BRZ tS Review – Track Tuned and Driver Ready

The 2024 Subaru BRZ tS is Subaru‘s wild child, the one that decided to ditch the all-wheel drive and head to the gym instead. We’re talking rear-wheel drive, a punchy boxer engine, and handling that’ll make you grin like a kid on Christmas morning. As the flagship of the BRZ lineup, the tS model is engineered to satisfy purists who crave nimble handling, precision control, and a driver-focused interior. I was excited to experience first-hand what sets this performance variant apart. Distance driven: 656 miles. Driving conditions: Sunny weather, rain storms, windy mountain roads through Sierra Nevada and Pope/Chiles Valley, Napa. The Experience The 2024 Subaru BRZ tS in WR Blue Pearl, offers a focused driving experience that comes with

2024 Subaru BRZ tS unveiled as best of the best

If you own one of Subaru’s driver-focused BRZ’s, you know it packs a lot into a small and affordable package. The carmaker recently unveiled the 2024 Subaru BRZ tS at Subiefest in California featuring upgrades that instantly elevate it to the top of the sub-$50,000 sports car crop.  The lightweight tS takes an often top-rated and highly sought-after car and improves it via a top-level trim that sits above the Premium and Limited specifications. Unlike the previous generation, the 2024 Subaru BRZ tS is not production limited to 500 units. tS stands for “Tuned by Subaru Tecnica International (STI),” Subaru’s performance division. “More” is the keyword surrounding the 2024 Subaru BRZ tS. New wheels and Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires

2015 Subaru BRZ: handsome, fun, not so fast

Now in its third year, the 2015 Subaru BRZ, a four-seat compact coupe, has a few updates and the new limited “Series.Blue” edition. The BRZ acronym name means: “B” for boxer engine. “R” for rear-wheel drive. And “Z” for zenith. It remains the Japanese manufacturer’s only model without the brand’s well-received symmetrical all-wheel drive system. Beyond the new trim, updates for 2015 Subaru BRZ include a retuned suspension, new exhaust tips, a “shark fin” antenna and a higher quality interior. The Weekly Driver Test Drive Like all of the carmaker’s models, the 2015 Subaru BRZ has vast list of standard features. The Premium comes standard with 17-inch alloy wheels, summer tires, a limited-slip rear differential, automatic bi-xenon headlights, LED running

Scion FR-S, 2013: Performance-oriented, mean sports car machine

The 2013 Scion FR-S, with its affordable $24,000 base price packed with value, is a true rear-wheel drive sports machine, not some vague imitation with front-wheel drive pretending to be a sports coupe. I test drove the Subaru BRZ and walked away thoroughly impressed. If the FR-S is anything close to performing like its Japanese cousin, we can look forward to seeing a lot them being picked up by the enthusiast crowd. Just the Numbers The FR-S is powered by a 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder boxer engine that can crank out 200 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and 151 lb.-ft. of torque at 6,400-6,600 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic, with paddle shifters and Dynamic

Subaru BRZ, 2013: Toyota, Subaru team to offer gifted sports coupe

The 2013 Subaru BRZ is the real deal. After two days of driving the 200 horsepower rear-wheel drive sport coupe on the street and at the race track, there is no doubt Subaru's new sport coupe is gifted with exceptional balance and poise. The BRZ is a rear-wheel drive sports coupe that came about as a collaboration between Toyota and Subaru. The manufactuers' design focus was to engineer a sports coupe with a low center of gravity, light weight and precision handling. The results are two affordable sports coupes that attain their design goals and exceed expectations. The BRZ (like the Scion FR-S) is propelled by a 200-horsepower, 2.0-liter direct-injected horizontally opposed ('flat') four-cylinder engine, with rear-wheel drive and a
