PRESS RELEASE
The 2020 Mercedes-Benz CLA 250 is equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 221 horsepower matched with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Front-wheel and all-wheel drive are available on the four-door sedan.
Slightly bigger and taller, the CLA 250 increases in overall length by 1.9 inches to 184.6 inches; the wheelbase increases by 1.1 inches to 107.4 inches. Mercedes-Benz has also extended the wheel tracks by 2.5 inches at the front and 2.2 inches at the rear.
The CLA-Class is equipped with the Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) software. The standard cabin features two seven-inch displays — one for the instruments, the other for the infotainment system. Customers can upgrade to two 10.25-inch screens for a more eye-catching view.

Another option adds gesture control to the tech that lets occupants just wave their hands to make selections, rather than using the usual touchpad on the center console. Further available improvements include navigation and a Burmester Surround Sound System.
2020 Mercedes-Benz CLA 250: More tech, more trims
The 2020 CLA comes standard with an Active Brake Assist system that can automatically slow the sedan to avoid collisions with vehicles, bicycles, and pedestrians. However, the optional Driver Assistance Package loads the vehicle with helpful driving aids. It includes features like adaptive cruise control, active steering assist, lane keep assist, speed limit sign recognition, and blind-spot monitoring.
The latest CLA-Class grows a little over the previous generation. The overall length is up 1.9 inches (48 millimeters) to 184.6 inches (4,688 mm), and the wheelbase increases by 1.1 inches (30 mm) to 107.4 inches (2,729 mm).
The company also pushes out the wheel tracks by stretching them 2.5 inches (63 mm) at the front and 2.2 inches (55 mm) at the rear. The greater size doesn’t translate to big boosts in cabin space because front legroom decreases by 0.04 inches (1 mm) and the rear legroom grows by 1 mm. In the trunk, cargo capacity decreases by 0.35 cubic feet (10 liters) to a total of 16.24 cubic feet (460 liters).
