Elon Musk has debuted many cars including the $130,000 Tesla Model X SUV.

After nearly two years of delays, Tesla has unveiled its $130,000 sport utility vehicle Model X with the electric carmaker’s owner claiming it’s the “safest, fastest and most capable sport utility vehicle in history.”

Elon Musk, founder and CEO of Tesla, debuted the vehicle at the company’s factory in Fremont, California, and also gave keys to a handful of new customers.

According to the Tesla website, the Model X can seat seven adults and accelerate from zero to 60 miles per hour in 3.8 seconds. There’s also an option for the standard 0-60 mph test in 3.2 seconds with Tesla’s “Ludicrous Speed Upgrade.”

The new Tesla is equipped with a 90 kilowatt-hour battery, with the manufacturer stating the SUV can be driven 250 miles before charging.

The Tesla Model X’s exterior is unique. It features rear-seat “Falcon Wing doors” that lift upward instead of swinging outward.

USA Today reported: “It also comes with what Tesla describes as one of the largest windshields ever put on a vehicle. The windshield extends all the way past the top of the driver’s head. Front passengers will get not only a panoramic view of the road, but of the trees and sky passing by.”

The manufacturer reports the Model X received a five-star rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Automatic emergency breaking and side-collision avoidance systems are standard.

Tesla also touted the “bioweapon defense mode.” It’s a button that when pushed in an “apocalyptic scenario” would keep the car’s occupants safe. The car’s air filter — about 10 times larger than a normal car’s air filter — should be able to filter bacteria, allergens, smog and viruses at vastly higher levels than current vehicles’ systems.

Production is expected to begin in 2016 when Tesla increases production of both Model X and Model S vehicles.
