Jerry Seinfeld’s latest comedic innovation, Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, will conclude its second season with Chris Rock as the guest of eighth episode finale.

Like Seinfeld’s television show, Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee is based on the complexities and yet simple ways of natural comedy. It’s about cars and coffee, but not really.

The Internet-only series premiered July 19, 2012 on digital network Crackle. In each episode, Seinfeld introduces a classic car. He calls a comedian and drives the car to pick up the guest. The duo then drives to a restaurant and has coffee (and sometimes lunch).

There are deviations from the norm (as one would expect) like the poignancy of last season’s episode when comedian Michael Richards discussed the nightclub incident that ended his career. And this season Seinfeld returns after coffee with Carl Reiner to join him for dinner with Mel Brooks, the latter of whom are best friends.

In a recent eposide, Seinfeld drives Seth Meyers of Saturday Night Life fame to coffee in a 1973 Porsche Carrera. Seinfeld calls the Porsche “The Perfect Car.” Meyers, a seriously non-car person, couldn’t care less. But like other episodes, Meyers’ time with Seinfield is seriously funny.
