Models for 2015 cars and trucks in all shapes and sizes are steadily infiltrating the market. Which means it’s about the time when better prices may be available 2014 models.

As edit and publisher of The Weekly Driver I’ve reviewed more than three-dozen 2014 models to date. And entry level sedans to luxury cars, sub-compacts to sport utility vehicles, the automotive industry has become increasingly competitive.

So far this year, the Weekly Driver’s staff has contributed a few dozen other reviews and we’ve produced six independent videos.

Videographer Bruce Aldrich, who edits and publishes, tahoetruckeeoutdoor.com, filmed and produced the videos.

As the editor and publisher of theweeklydriver.com, I provided the narration for the videos.

Contributing editor Dan Jedlicka, an auto reviewer for more than 40 years, has written about three-dozen additional reviews for the site this year. He’s the publisher of danjedlicka.com.

Here in alphabetical order are the links to 2014 car videos available on the theweeklydriver.com’s YouTube channel and a brief opinion from The Weekly Driver about each car. Click on the links to watch the videos.

2014 Acura RLX

“I don’t know of any lousy luxury cars. And the new Acura RLX is far from lousy. In fact, it’s a fine cruising machine. But in a car segment in which BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Lexus and Audi rule, the RLX will have a difficult time finding a substantial share of the market.”

2014 Chevrolet Impala

“Perhaps near extinction after more than 50 years in the automotive mainstream, the Chevy Impala has returned to its iconic status with the 2014 edition. Here’s to another 50 years, and from the looks and performance of the new model, it’s certainly feasible.”

2014 Fiat 500L

“If fun to drive, plenty of cargo space, innovation and good fuel economy are good reasons to buy a car, then the 2014 Fiat 500L is a good car to buy.”

2014 Mazda MX-5

“It’s impractical and not that quick. But the 2014 Mazda MX-5 Miata is two-seat roadster that defines the term sports car at an Everyman’s budget.”

2014 Toyota Highlander

“The new Highlander is among the fraternity of vehicles I’ve driven in which I’ve immediately felt comfortable. I didn’t sit in either the second or third rows. But the driver’s and front passenger seats were spacious with plenty of headroom and legroom. The driver’s view offered a near panoramic view with no blind spots.”

2014 Toyota 4-Runner

“The 2014 Toyota 4Runner has its loyal fans, and I get it. Tradition is cool in cars. But at nearly $48,000, there’s something to be said for breaking tradition, too.”
