Hyundai has taken an aggressively offensive approach to one of the most anticipated sub-plots of the Super Bowl — the game’s commercials. Five days before the Indianapolis Colts and New Orleans Saints play, the automaker’s Super Bowl commercials have been released. Ironically, Brett Favre, who’s not playing in the Super Bowl, is the star with the 2011 Sonata.
Favre, the Minnesota Vikings’ quarterback, is the star of one of two Hyundai commercials. Adorned with white hair and a white beard, Favre making an acceptance speech after being awarded the MVP trophy in the 2020 Super Bowl at age 50. But Favre still remains uncertain about retirement — 10 years from now.
The advertisement, a parody of Favre’s two previous retirement, then transitions from Favre to the 2011 Hyundai Sonata and its 10-year warranty. Scheduled for the first quarter of the game, the 30-second ad will feature the new sedan.
Available in dealerships in February 2010, the Sonata has 200 horsepower and a 35 mpg freeway mileage estimate.

Buy American Brett. I think at age 50 you will probably be sitting in a wheel chair talking to your pet football.
